Description
The state-owned enterprise Diamo, which specializes in mitigating the consequences of mining activities, has announced 430 job cuts across seven manufacturing plants in the Czech Republic by the end of August 2024. At the same time, there will be a merger of plants - four will remain from the current seven.
Redundancies and mergers should bring annual savings of CZK 400 to 500 million (€15.8 to 19.8 million).
The company, which currently employs 3,450 people, intends to use the savings to cover expenses for mitigating the consequences of uranium mining.
