VF Corporation, an American multinational specialised in clothing and footwear has announced it will be dismissing approximately 100 employees of its Belgian division. The dismissals will mainly take place within white collar support functions such as IT, HR and administrative personnel. The company management states that the restructuring is part of an effort to streamline the company and make it more efficient.
Local trade union delegations have started talks with the company management (as prescribed in the 'Renault-Law'). According to trade union spokespeople, the willingness to undertake actions is high amongst the personnel.
