European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The German mechanical engineering company Bosch Rexroth plans to cut up to 240 jobs in Schweinfurt and Volkach (Lower Franconia).
Bosch Rexroth stated that the reasons for the decision included a reluctance to invest and price pressure from Asian competitors. Parts of production are to be relocated to more cost-effective existing sites in Romania and Mexico. At the Schweinfurt and Volkach site, up to 240 jobs in production, development and administration are to be cut by the end of 2028 with the help of partial retirement, early retirement offers and severance packages.
Bosch Rexroth is one of the leading suppliers of drive and control technology for machines and systems.

After negotiations between the management of Bosch Rexroth and employee representatives, the number of job cuts has been reduced to 153 positions. The reduction of these remaining 153 positions is now set to take place in a socially responsible manner by the end of 2028 through early retirement and phased retirement arrangements. A total of 85 jobs in production and administration will be retained.
