Description

The Spanish bank BBVA has announced plans to add 2,700 technology workers in 2024, 1,225 of which will be located in Spain for its headquarters in Madrid, Bilbao, and Barcelona. The move is part of the bank's digitalization strategy. BBVA's new employment portal, launched in 2023, will help the bank in attracting technological talent, including cybersecurity specialists, software developers, or data engineers from countries where the bank has a presence, such as the UK, Spain, Portugal, or the US.

To attract talent to the engineering area, BBVA offers a long-term professional career and a flexible work model, along with a commitment to 'the physical and mental well-being of all professionals.'

In 2023, BBVA hired 3,908 people with STEM ('Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics') or Engineering and Data profiles, of which 1,259 new hires were in Spain. In 2022, BBVA also hired new personnel BBVA-2022-ES
