Description

The heat pump manufacturing company Nibe is reducing its workforce by 264 employees in Markaryd, Sweden. The redundancies will affect both the administration and the manufacturing parts of the business. Nibe is part of the company group Nibe Industrier, which, in addition to Nibe has informed about redundancies at its subsidiary CTC AB in Ljungby, Sweden, with 40 employees. Similar reductions in the workforce are also expected in the company's operations around Europe where cooperation negotiations will start Nibe 2024 - EU.

The redundancies are explained by a decrease in demand for heat pumps in Europe at the beginning of 2024. The company wants to save around SEK 600 million (€ 52,4 million) which was presented in its quarterly report in February.

Nibe Industrier has approximately 21,000 employees globally, of which almost 1,500 work in Markaryd, Sweden.
