Description

The Swedish truck and car manufacturer, Volvo Trucks, announced that they might need to lay off around 200 staff members, due to lower sales and a decrease in production. The reason is a reduced demand for new vehicles. The affected factory in Gothenburg is said to reduce production by 10 percent.

The Trade Union IF Metall has been appointed to take part of the cooperation negotiations.

Volvo Trucks has announced that they will dismiss 250 employees from their factory in Gothenburg, Sweden due to a lower production rate. The dismissals will mainly affect consultants and fixed-term employees.

Volvo Trucks currently employs 2,800 employees at their factory in Tuve, Gothenburg, whilst the Volvo Group employs 95,000 employees globally.

Previous restructuring measures at Volvo in Sweden, over the last two years, are layoffs at the Volvo Trucks factory in Umeå, 2023 Volvo Trucks 2023 - Sweden and layoffs at the Volvo Car's factory in Gothenburg Volvo Cars 2023 - Sweden.
