Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
PepsiCo Global Business Services Poland, a provider of services to beverage and food manufacturer, will lay off 200 people from its Shared Services office in Krakow, Poland. The redundancies are explained by organisational changes to the business services office function; the company states that it is working closely with the employees affected by the restructuring - severance packages and career support have been offered. The redundancy process has started; some of the employees will work until May and the rest until August 2024. The group layoffs concern employees of the finance and controlling department. PepsiCo Global Business Services Poland is owned by PepsiCo, an American soft drinks and food products company. The Krakow branch provides services related to finance, accounting, HR, marketing and sales support.
