Description

Video game developer Blizzard Entertainment is to cut over 130 jobs in Ireland. The 136 job losses are expected at its office in Cork.

The company was recently acquired by Microsoft in a deal worth $69 million. Following the acquisition, Microsoft announced that it would be cutting 1,900 jobs across it video-gaming divisions, including at Blizzard. In January, the company told staff and the Irish government of the potential for redundancies but did not confirm how many.

Blizzard Entertainment currently employs approximately 400 people in Ireland, in Cork and Dublin.
