European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
McDonald's Italia, the US multinational food chain, disclosed plans to inaugurate 50 new restaurants across Italy in 2024 which are set to generate employment for 5,000 individuals. The majority of positions will be in restaurant-related roles.
The focus of these new openings will be on southern Italy and suburban areas, aiming to enhance the brand's footprint in less saturated markets. The company in 2023 already opened 48 new restaurants.
McDonald’s opened in Italy in 1984 and currently it has 35,000 employees and 700 restaurants.
