State broadcaster RTÉ is to cut 400 jobs over the next four years.
This represents a cut of 20% of the current workforce of 2,000 people and the jobs are to be cut by 2028. The company plans to reduce the headcount through a voluntary redundancy programme which is estimated to cost around €40 million.
It was reported that the plan is to target an initial 40 redundancies in the short term. The targeted job reductions were contained in a strategic plan presented to the Government in late 2023.
