Description

Approximately 360 employees are to be made redundant from cloud computing firm, VMWare.

Most of the proposed redundancies will impact staff at the company’s site in Ballincollig in Cork with a small number at the Dublin office also affected. Employees working in HR, Legal, Marketing and Finance will be impacted by the job losses, as well as Operations, ESG and other areas.

VMware was recently acquired by US semiconductor company, Broadcom and in a letter to staff, the company said it is now “proposing to make headcount reductions in order to simplify the organisation structure by introducing clear lines of accountability and streamlining processes.”

The company currently employs 1,000 people in Ireland.
