Description
The Paris Commercial Court has decided the compulsory liquidation of the ready-to-wear chain Burton of London, which still employed some 200 people, all of whom will be made redundant. The company, whose main shareholder is Thierry Le Guénic, was placed in receivership until the summer of 2023. The company closed its head office and 46 shops across France.
The current owner, Thierry Le Guénic, acquired Burton of London for a symbolic €1 in November 2020. At the time, the company employed 658 people in 122 shops. 228 redundancies were announced during the first social plan in February 2023.
