Description
Ready-to-wear retailer IKKS is in difficulty and plans to cut jobs and close shops in response to a 'complex economic situation'. A job protection plan (PSE) has been presented to staff representatives. This plan could affect up to 202 employees in France (out of a total workforce of 1,328) and provides for the closure of 77 shops and corners (out of 604 outlets).
According to management, the aim of the redundancy plan is to enable IKKS to return to a sustainable economic equilibrium and ensure its long-term future. The unions have expressed their concern and incomprehension about this plan. Negotiations will begin in the coming weeks to find solutions for the employees threatened.
A former reorganisation has been recorded in the ERM Database, with 150 job creations in 2017 IKKS-2017-FR.
