European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The Adisseo Group has announced plans to cut 47 net jobs at its Commentry site (Allier), out of a total workforce of 335 (as of 1 December 2023), representing a reduction of 14% of the total workforce. The job cuts relate to the Commentry methionine plant, which has been shut down since October 2022 and will not be restarted. At the time, the Group's management justified the shutdown on the grounds of rising energy and raw materials costs. The Group explains that the aim of this project is to safeguard the competitiveness of its methionine production activities at European level. Management added that production costs at Commentry were higher than those at the Roches-Roussillon industrial platform (Isère).
