Description
The Finnish kitchen furniture manufacturer Nobia has announced that it will be laying off around 100 employees. According to Nobia, these layoffs come as an effect of a slowing down in residential construction work, which has reduced the demand for kitchen furniture.
The layoffs will both affect blue-collar employees at the Nastola factory, as well as office-workers in Nastola, Vantaa, Forssa and Tampere. Furthermore, Nobia will reduce the number of its branches from four to two, with the expected closure of the Forssa and Tampere branches in 2024. The activities will be centralize in Nastola and Vantaa.
According to numbers for 2022, Nobia employs 369 people throughout Finland.
