Description

The Commercial Court of Poitiers has approved the only proposal to take over the business of Transports Jammet, a refrigerated transport company, saving 74 jobs out of a total of 293. As a result, 219 employees will be made redundant. Three companies specialised in refrigerated transport joined forces to bid for three of the four platforms operated by Transports Jammet: only the platform at Heyrieux (Isère) did not find a buyer. The Limoges hub, with 41 employees, will be taken over by Mésotrans, a company based near Brive (Corrèze). The Cholet hub (Maine-et-Loire) will be operated with just six employees by local competitor Antoine Distribution. Lastly, the platform near Transports Jammet's head office in Fleuré (Vienne) is being taken over by European refrigerated transport giant STEF transports. Out of the 219 redundant employees, 179 might be offered redeployment positions in the future. However, the dynamics of the redeployment are yet to be defined at the present.
