Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
BNP Paribas Bank Polska S.A., which provides universal banking services, will terminate contracts with up to 800 employees. The reasons for the reduction in the workforce were not given. On 13 December 2023, an agreement was concluded with the trade unions operating in the Bank on the principles of conducting group layoffs; the agreement includes, among others, the criteria for selecting employees whose employment contracts will be terminated as part of group layoffs, the terms and conditions of employees' participation in the voluntary redundancy programme and the benefits to which employees covered by group layoffs will be entitled. The redundancies will be carried out from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026.
