Description

FrieslandCampina, a Netherlands-based dairy production company, has announced that it will cut 1,800 employees from its global workforce by the end of 2025. In the Netherlands, the layoffs will affect 900 positions.

The restructuring programme is part of the company’s Expedition 2030 programme which aims to achieve annual gross savings of between €400 and €500 million from 2026 onwards. The company said that some of the savings from the restructuring are expected to be concentrated on growth areas, including new, innovative and more sustainable dairy products, while a part of the annual savings will be used to off-set inflation.

The programme will affect positions in nearly every part of the company. The conditions of the programme will be negotiated with employee representatives according to local regulations.

Currently, FrieslandCampina, the world largest cooperative dairy company, employs almost 22,000 people in 30 countries. As of now, there is no further information available on which other locations are affected by the layoffs.

The previous European restructuring event has been recorded in the ERM events database FrieslandCampina-2020-EU. Moreover, the restructuring of FrieslandCampina in the Netherlands has been recorded under FrieslandCampina-2023-NL.
