Pierer Mobility, an Austrian motorcycle and sportscar manufacturer has announced an offshoring plan, leading to the loss of 300 jobs.
The executive board of the company announced the reduction of 300 jobs, the plan is to be implemented in 2024. The job cuts are attributed to "the adverse economic conditions in Europe". In the light of the cost reduction measures, parts of the production will be relocated to the strategic partners Bajaj Auto in India and CFMOTO in China.
Pierer Mobility is a listed Austrian motorcycle and sportscar manufacturer based in Mattinghofen, Upper Austria. Pierer Mobility sold 190,293 motorcycles (+16.5 percent) in the first half of the year. Sales of e-bicycles and bicycles increased by 39% to 71,491. Business in both divisions was particularly good in Europe, according to reports at the end of August. At that time, staff numbers were also increased compared to the previous year.
