Description

Mærsk, a large global company from Denmark focusing on commercial freight transport and logistics, is planning to dismiss 10,000 employees worldwide. Approximately 200 people are set to lose their jobs in Denmark. As of now, there is no information available on which other locations exactly are affected. The company experienced a large growth in demand during the COVID-19 pandemic, but has since then experienced a decline in demand. The company does not state exactly in which departments these dismissals will occur.

Mærsk CEO Vincent Clerc declares that the company has made the restructuring plans to cater for a more normal business environment after the COVID-19 crisis. During the year the company has stopped hiring on its local locations and departments and has thereby been able to reduce its staff.

The restructuring plan in Denmark has been recorded in the ERM events database Mærsk-2023-DK.
