Description
The Commercial Court of Pointe-à-Pitre has validated the partial takeover of the Caire airline group by Cipim (holding company of the Edéis group) in association with the local authority of Saint-Martin. The court has authorised 176 redundancies on economic grounds, including 78 at the Guyana subsidiary, out of the 300 employees of the Caire group. Cipim will only take over the routes operated by Air Antilles, one of the CAIRE group's airlines. This took place as a competitor, Cafom group, has finally withdrew another takeover offer, where it was proposing a global takeover with 194 of the 296 employees. The new company intends to refocus on services to the four French islands of Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélémy, Guadeloupe and Martinique.
