Description
ABB is closing its low-voltage electrical apparatus factory in Kłodzko, resulting in the loss of employment for 600 people. The decision to shut down the plant is motivated by changing customer needs; the company has signed an agreement with the trade union for collective redundancies, and the layoffs will begin in the first quarter of 2024 and will be completed by the end of the year. Under the union agreement, affected employees will receive severance pay and additional benefits based on their years of service; in addition, the company is offering career counselling. ABB is a multinational corporation specialising in automation, robotics and energy. The company is headquartered in Zurich and employs about 105,000 people worldwide, with 5,000 of them working in Poland.
