European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Vacansoleil, a Dutch travel organisation with its headquarters in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, was declared bankrupt by the East Brabant District Court. As a result, all 300 employees will lose their job, reportedly by direct dismissal.
The Employee Insurance Agency UWV will take over the salaries of all employees for up to a maximum of 6 weeks after the bankruptcy. Vacansoleil, specialised in camping vacations for over 50 years, has been struggling with high debts from the past. The company is interested in a takeover or starting anew.
