OVS is an Italian company focused on garments and apparel. According to the news, national and local politicians have activated a task force which aims to enhance the backshoring of Italian companies. OVS is the second largest company in the apparel sector that is planning to backshore, and the largest producing clothing for the mid-range segment of the market. So far, only high end segment companies have reshored. As the move has just been announced, numbers are not yet known in regards to actual implementation, the number of jobs created and destroyed and the company's key motivations. Further monitoring of the case is required in this regard.
