Description
Patrona Luggage is a relatively new British company that mainly produces the "Shirt Shuttle", a specially designed case for transporting shirts. The company has received a grant from the Manufacturing Advisory Service (MAS) in order to relocate the production to Hampshire from China. According to the news, there have been a number of quality issues with its Asian partner. Andrew Brundan, managing director and founder, claims that aside from the quality and speed of production, there can also be a significant cost advantage to manufacturing in the UK. The company also claims that the support available from MAS is a real encouragement for companies to take the first step in re-shoring and will help UK manufacturers to have more confidence to compete in the global market.
