Description

Salamander, a shoe retail chain and part of the German parent company ARA-Group, is closing all stores at all locations in Austria by September 2023 and 100 employees will lose their jobs. A sell-off was starting in order to prevent the company from becoming insolvent. The Delka brand has existed in Austria for 100 years. At first Delka belonged to the Bawag subsidiary Stiefelkönig, in 2011 Delka was taken over by the ARA Group. Since then, 35 stores have already been reduced to 18. The 100 Delka employees have been registered for termination with the Labor Market Service. Women in particular are affected by the layoffs.
