Description

The Guiana Space Centre (Centre spatial guyanais - CSG) is to shed 190 employees following an agreement signed by the CFE-CGC, FO and UTG (Union des travailleurs guyanais) trade unions, and the management of Arianespace, ArianeGroup and CNES.

The space centre is suffering the consequences of the suspension of Soyuz launches following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, the failure of the first commercial flight of the Vega-C rocket and the cumulative delays of the new Ariane 6 launcher. In 2023, only four flights are expected to leave the centre, compared with a dozen in normal times.

CNES currently has just under 1,600 employees.
