Description
The Courtepaille restaurant chain, which belonged to the Napaqaro group, has been taken over by the La Boucherie group, whose takeover bid has been validated by the Nanterre court. With this takeover, about 1,500 employees, according to La Boucherie, will be dismissed. A trade unionist expected 1,600 job cuts. La Boucherie's offer consists of extending the Courtepaille brand to 72 franchises and 9 other directly-operated establishments. Faced with 'serious economic and financial difficulties initially caused by the Covid crisis and subsequently worsened', the company announced at the end of March that it had applied to the Nanterre Commercial Court to open receivership proceedings.
Prior to this takeover, the restaurant chain had 144 directly-operated restaurants and 72 franchises. It employed a total of 2,089 people.
