Description
Motortech Polska, the Polish representative of Motortech company, a developer and manufacturer of ignition systems, has laid off staff at the Charzyno plant. The reasons for the closure have not been disclosed; 85 employees were given notice on 12 May 2023, and by 18 May, the dismissed employees are to decide whether to terminate their employment by mutual agreement (in which case they are entitled to, among other things, a severance payment of PLN 1,000) or to accept a dismissal with one month's notice and payment of compensation. The District Labour Office was not informed in advance of the planned redundancies, although this is a statutory obligation. The employees asked for the support of a Kolobrzeg-based lawyer specialising in labour law to investigate the procedure for these dismissals.
Motortech GmbH is an international designer and manufacturer of ignition systems, air/fuel ratio control systems, gas engine control systems and other accessories for the global power industry with stationary gas engines, and is headquartered in Berlin.
