European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Unigro, a Belgian online retailer specialised in products for home, leisure and gardening has announced it will cease activities in Belgium. All 141 employees active within the company are at risk of losing their job. The company has been loss-making for several years now and increasingly so due to several reasons, including insufficient turnover, increasing competition with other online (international) retailers as well as the economic crisis leading to a reduction in sales. Trade unions will now be consulted and negotiations initiated as prescribed by law.
