Palmia has concluded cooperation negotiations and are reducing around 100 staff. The company has not yet been willing to comment upon the final number of dismissals, or in which geographical units the dismissals take place.
A total of 530 people were within the scope of the cooperation negotiations, primarily expert and managerial staff. At the outset of the negotiations, Palmia did not comment upon lay-offs being considered as a saving measure.
Palmia was in the ownership of the city of Helsinki until February 2023, when it was sold to the German private equity holding company Mutares. Predating the sale, the company has been operating at a loss.
Palmia offers catering, real estate, cleaning and security services in 15 municipalities in Southern Finland and has around 2,500 employees.
