Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Rheinmetall Hungary, the joint venture of German arms manufacturer Rheinmetall and the Hungarian state, will soon complete the preparations for the production start at its new plant in Zalaegerszeg. In the first round, 350 jobs will be created, 200 of which are already filled. The company has announced plans to hire an additional 150 people. The plant will produce Lynx infantry fighting vehicles for the Hungarian armed forces. Production will start around mid-2023. The hiring of personnel is already underway.
The investment cost was €160 million. The Lynx plant will operate in close cooperation with the test track "ZalaZone" – the test track was expanded with an off-road specialized military test track. The presence of the secondary vocational schools and the higher education infrastructure in Zalaegerszeg was also a factor in attracting the production site in the town.
