Description
ASK Romein, a multinational Dutch construction company with a facility in Malle (province of Antwerp) has filed for bankruptcy. All jobs of employees within the facility are at risk of losing their job. The main issues within the company were related to several problematic wharfs within the broader group, these have led to large losses for the company that were impossible to compensate for. The company is known for several prominent constructions across the country, including some football stadiums. The bankruptcy of the Belgian division follows that of the divisions within the Netherlands.
Trade Unions have voiced their concern for the workers as they believe it is unrealistic that those employed for work on construction sites will be re-employed to continue the work there. There are no details on the social plan offered to those made redundant.
