Description

Multinational professional services firm, Accenture, is to cut 400 jobs in Ireland over the next 18 months. The company has said that half of the job cuts will take place by the end of Q3 2023. The majority of the layoffs will affect staff who work directly for clients, as opposed to outsourcing-focused workers. “After a careful review of our business operations, we can confirm that we are going into collective employee consultation for a proposed redundancy programme that is anticipated to affect approximately 400 of our people in Ireland,” a spokesman for the company said. The number of job losses in Ireland will mean that 6% of the workforce in Ireland will be cut compared to an expected job reduction rate of 2.5% globally across the Accenture group.

The job reductions are part of a company plan to cut 19,000 jobs worldwide across the group (Accenture-2023-WO). Accenture has its headquarters in Ireland and currently employs 6,500 people here.
