Česká pošta, the state postal carrier, has announced mass layoffs and closure of approximately 300 office branches out of a total of 3,200 across the country due to financial issues and fewer people using the company's services. Czech Post will abolish 2,269 positions as of 1 July 2023, some of which are currently vacant. The planned dismissals will affect 1,388 counter operators, 511 deliverymen and 320 lower management workers. The layoffs will affect all regions of the country. The company said that it would help the laid-off workers to look for work.
During 2022, a business expansion was recorded for Česká pošta in the ERM database, announcing the creation of 350 jobs (Česká pošta-2022-CZ).
