Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Garo, a manufacturer of smart chargers for electric cars, has announced it is due to have a brand new plant in Szczecin, Poland, completed by April 2023. In line with the opening of the new plant, the company will increase employment to approximately 300 people, doubling the current number of workers. The new factory will be located in the Szczecin Trzebusz Special Economic Zone.
The new factory will allow the production capacity to be increased by almost 10 times. Currently, between 2,000 and 3,000 car charging stations are assembled every week. At the new factory, the production will be increased to 20,000 chargers per week.
Garo is part of the Swedish Garo Group, which has been founded in 1939. Garo manufactures charging stations for electric cars. In Poland, it specialises in the production of wall-mounted AC charging stations (wallbox AC). It has been operating in Szczecin since 1996.
