Description
The food industry group Fleury Michon has announced the closure of its plant in Plélan-le-Grand (Ille-et-Villaine), which produces superior hams and other cooked meats for the retail sector. The closure will result in the loss of 101 jobs. Some employees may be redeployed to another sites of the group, particularly at the Pouzauges site in the department of Vendée. The group's management stresses that no buyer has been found. The site had been in the hot seat since October 2022, due to financial difficulties for several years. Eight companies had declared themselves but none had responded. A job safeguard plan will be negotiated with the unions over the next three months. For the time being, no closure date has been set.
