Description

Lidl, a German discount supermarket chain, announced that up to 250 new jobs will be created at its new logistics centre in Fundeni (Calarasi County). The construction of the centre has been finalized and recruitment has already started. This new logistics facility, strategically located near the A2 motorway, will supply more than 55 stores in the South and Southeast of the country.

Several alternative solutions have been implemented at the new Fundeni logistics facility to both save energy and reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emissions from transport. The new regional headquarters is equipped with 2,650 solar panels, which have the capacity to produce around 30% of the building's operating energy. The Fundeni hub is the sixth logistics centre, and the largest which Lidl will open in Romania. The supermarket chain employs over 10,100 people across Romania.
