Description
The Italian State Railway company, Ferrovie dello Stato group, will hire 1000 young people in the three-year period 2023-2025, as announced by the company itself and the Ministry of Transport. The choice was made following the announcement of the establishment of a security body (initially in the Rogoredo station in Milan and later in the stations of Rome, Bologna, Venice, Reggio Calabria, and Palermo) run by an ad hoc company called FS Security (managed by Ferrovie dello Stato), to guarantee the safety of passengers in stations.
A building called Security Academy will also be built in Milan Rogoredo to train young FS Security workers. Moreover, in Rome, a national Control Room will be set up to monitor the stations. Finally, operational staff in high-flow stations will be increased, although the number of hirings for this area has not yet been specified.
The trade unions were satisfied, but asked for these implementations to be extended to other Italian stations as well, to ensure greater safety for workers and passengers.
