Description

Danish Crown is a large slaughterhouse company that is active in several countries. It is the largest slaughterhouse company in Denmark. The company has decided to dismiss 150 employees, and expect around 100 of the dismissals will take place in Denmark. In Denmark the dismissals will primarily be office employees. The main reasons is the declining export of meat to Asia and the low current prices of pig meat. Especially covid-19 and Chinas rising production of pig meat has hit the company hard. The war in Ukraine and the high inflation is also cited a challenge. During the next six months Danish Crown will try to cut costs through mergers or closure of companies.
