Description
Systembolaget, a Swedish state-owned company with a statutory monopoly on the retail sale of alcohol beverages, has initiated negotiations to dismiss more than 100 employees out of 576 at its headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden. Employees in Systembolaget’s stores or warehouses will not be affected by the current restructuring.
Systembolaget has explained the dismissals by freeing up resources for other initiatives in the areas of digitalisation, sustainability, and public health. The aim is to save up to SEK 200 million. The reformed organisation is to be in place in April, 2023.
Systembolaget has 450 stores and around 475 retailers. The company employs more than 6,000 people in Sweden.
