Description
The Swedish weapons manufacturer, Saab, has experienced increased demands as a result of Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the ongoing war. The war has primarily heightened the demand for Saab's NLAW anti-tank guided missile launcher. The company has announced that it will be recruiting an additional 100 people its Karlskoga unit, primarily software designers, electronics and mechanics professionals, as well as fitters.
Over the last three years, the Karlskoga unit has increased its staff by about 400 people. These developments are in the context of the area's reindustrialisation, and it is reported that the municipality aims to build 1,300 additional housing units to accommodate the industrial expansion plans.
