The Domfront cheese company, located in Domfront-en-Poiraie (Orne), has announced the recruitment of around 150 employees from December 2022. This site, part of Lactalis group, is the main manufacturing plant for Camembert cheese under the "Président" brand. It has a new industrial tool enabling it to gradually increase its cheese production. Lactalis has invested €70 million to modernise its production. On average, it is 25,000 t per year, i.e. 85 million units, most of which is Camembert, with milk collected from local producers within a 35 km radius of the site. The objective is to reach 40,000 t per year, with a ramp-up in 2023.
