European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
French multinational, Sopra Steria is a provider of digital services for banking, industry and administration. In 2022, the company hired 140 people in Catalonia, and has announced a plan to hire another 140 in 2023. The company's turnover in the Catalan region is expected to grow to EUR 47 million in 2022 and, in Spain as a whole, will reach EUR 250 million. Half of the turnover will come from the financial sector, 30% from industrial companies and 20% from public administrations.
Sopra Steria has 47,000 employees in nearly 30 countries, with a turnover of 4.7 billion euros in 2021. The Barcelona offices act as an international hub for the company, serving clients in France, Germany, Austria and Norway. The company has experienced a major job increase in previous years in Spain (Sopra Steria-2019-ES and Sopra Steria-2020-ES) and France (Sopra Steria-2022-FR).
