Description
Majorel Estonia, a company providing call center services, announced the dismissal of 167 employees which is 74% of their current workforce. The affected employees are solely Russian-speaking service providers. According to the CEO of the company, the restructuring is directly a result of the Russian war against Ukraine, which has decreased the demand for the services and the increase in cost of living in Estonia, which forces the employers to increase wages by 15-20%.
During the dismissal procedures, the company will offer some of the employees a job in other companies in the group as long as there are jobs available and the dismissed employees have necessary competencies. In addition, to save rental costs, the remaining employees will start doing telework.
