Description

Telefónica España, the Spanish Telecommunications multinational company, has announced plans for 2022-2024 to recruit 200 people, joining the 400 new hires already agreed with peak-level unions for 2023. The company is seeking profiles for new activities linked to technologies such as big data, cybersecurity or the 'internet of things'.

The major unions, UGT and CCOO, have signed an agreement stating the 200 new hires will be people with disabilities. Telefónica has also signed agreements with specialised training companies which will offer training in the areas of digital security and automation for those who are hired. This 600 jobs creation plan, with a focus on young and diverse talent, was reached as part of the Social Plan for Employment, signed in parallel with the extension of the company’s collective agreement until the end of 2023. In the first half of 2022, 122 new people have been hired as part of the scheme.

In Spain during 2021, previous resturturing events have been recorded in the ERM Events database, including an expansion of 179 new hires (Telefonica-2021-ES), and ongoing internal restructuring of 2500-4000 employees (Telefonica-2021a-ES).
