Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
American financial services corporation Fidelity Investments has announced the planned recruitment of 300 employees in Ireland over the next two years. Some 200 of the new roles will be based in Galway with the remaining 100 based in Dublin. According to the company, staff will be able to work flexibly but must be resident in Ireland due to taxation and employment regulations. Recruitment for the new roles is already underway and they include software engineering, cloud and cyber security, as well as a number of business operations roles.
The Boston headquartered company currently employs 1,500 people in Ireland.
