Description
The airline Norwegian is expanding its cabin crew from 170 to 310 employees in Arlanda, Stockholm. According to Norwegian's communications manager, the company will rehire some of its former employees who were laid off during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as hire some new employees. The plan is to fully train the new cabin crew by spring 2023.
As of the recovery of the economy and the lifting of restrictions, the company has seen an increased demand for airline services. As the company expects continued growth in travelers and routes, it plans to increase its fleet and continue hiring in 2023.
Norwegian already announced plans to hire 270 employees in the beginning of 2022 (Norwegian 2022 - SE). During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the company had laid off 400 employees in Sweden (Norwegian 2020 - SE) .
Norwegian is a low-cost airline operating in Europe. At the end of 2021, Norwegian employed 3,600 people, out of which 2,100 were based in Norway, where the company is originated.
