Description

Global Business Services Porto (GBS Porto) - from the Adidas group - will implement changes in its organisational structure, including the relocation of services to India. This restructuring process will lead to a collective dismissal of at least 300 workers. The changes will take place until the summer of 2023.

The company is located in the Science and Technology Park of Maia (TecMaia), Porto, since 2009.

Adidas state that is trying to find fair solutions for all workers, with the priority being a possible transfer to another position in Porto. Workers with open-ended contracts will be the first to be affected by the transfer of tasks from Portugal to India.

Deputies from the Portuguese Communist Party questioned the Government about the support that the company received and what counterparts were guaranteed to the State by the German sportswear company Adidas.

The company has not yet officially notified the Portuguese Authorities regarding its intention to job cuts.
