Description
In connection with the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poličské strojírny, the largest Czech manufacturer of military ammunition, based in Polička, has announced the need to expand weapons production and to hire up to 150 workers. The company currently needs to fill more than 50 vacancies and about 100 new job positions will be created in 2023. Currently, around 650 people work in the Polička factory, which is one of the most important employers in the region.
Since the beginning of the conflict, Czech companies of the defense industry concluded contracts for deliveries to Ukranine in total amount of around CZK 40 billion (€ 1.6 billion). The Czech arms industry is now in a phase of rapid development due to the need to invest in new production capacities, in the recruitment of people and in modernization. Similar to Europe, the demand for weapons, ammunition and other military equipment is expected to increase in the coming years. Czech exports of these products are likely to set a new record this year.
